Beach Thoughts

“How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.” – Psalm 139:7-8🏖

I’ll never forget my dear friend and mentor picking up a handful of sand while we were at the beach, holding it up, and reciting those verses to me. God knows that sometimes we need visual analogies to even begin to wrap our minds around His character.

God’s thoughts toward us are filled with only the purest love, and there are so many bible verses that point to that! Here are just a couple as food for thought:

“For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11.

“Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!” Psalm 139:16-17.

God’s thoughts toward us are far too numerous for us to count and far to virtuous to fathom. This begs the question, how often do we think of God, and what are our thoughts toward him? 🙏✝️
