Wise Commandments

Posted on November 2, 2020 by Catey Stover in Freedom Fighters

Good morning on this new week of Freedom Fighters. I really appreciate your partnering with us on our weekly Freedom Fighter Blogs.

This week is going to be a historic week as head into the election. Can I remind you of a couple of things?

  1. God is still in control. Actually, I don’t think that the American people will vote in the President of the United States. I believe God is the one who is overseeing this. Remember this verse in Daniel 2:21?

He changes the times and seasons;
He removes kings and establishes kings.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to those
who have understanding.

  1. No matter who wins the election, we can still trust Him and do so completely. And we get to pray for whoever becomes the next President.

I belong to a fun email list called Mikey’s Funnies (http://www.mikeysfunnies.com/). He posted this last week, which was so timely:

WISE COMMANDMENTS

Thou shall not worry; for worry is the most unproductive of all human activities.

Thou shall not be fearful; for most of the things we fear never come to pass.

Thou shall not cross bridges before you come to them; for no one yet has succeeded in accomplishing this.

Thou shall face each problem as it comes; you can only handle one at a time anyway.

Thou shall not take problems to bed with you; for they make very poor bedfellows.

Thou shall not try to relive yesterday for good or ill, it is forever gone; concentrate on what is happening in your life and be content now.

Thou shall be a good listener; for only when you listen do you hear different ideas from your own. (It’s hard to learn something new when you’re always talking.)

Thou shall not become “bogged down” by frustration; for 90% of it is rooted in self-pity and will only interfere with moving forward.

Thou shall count thy blessings; never overlooking the small ones, for a lot of small blessings add up to a big one.

I thought that was pretty cool! Speaking of cool, our friend Dr. Charles Zimmerman has a consulting ministry, and I download a cool exercise for November.

It’s called the Reset Challenge 2020 –20 Positive Actions in 20 Days. If you would like to join me, send me your email: bwelte@americaskeswick.org, and I will send you a PDF. You can check it out at the Center Consult Group @ centerconsulting.org.

Have a blessed week. Remember – God’s got it!

Think About This: “God dwells in His creation and is everywhere indivisibly present in all His works. He is transcendent above all His works even while He is immanent within them.” – A.W. Tozer
