What’s in your wallet?

You’ve seen the commercials, Jennifer Garner and Samuel L. Jackson plugging for a credit card company. Makes it sound so great to have “their” credit card in your wallet. Let’s get some facts straight first.  More people have at least 1 credit to there name than ever before. And also, credit card debt is at an all-time high, almost a trillion dollars, YES TRILLIONS!! And statistics show that 55% of all Americans don’t pay off their credit card each month when the bill comes due. That’s a lot of interest being paid to these companies each month, to the tune of 121 Billion dollars in 2019 alone. Given the state in which are ours, and other countries are in the experts say 2020 will have more revolving credit card debt than ever. Yet there are 35% of Americans that pay off their debt each and every month. I’m proud to say I’m in the 35% group, but I wasn’t always. On several occasions in my life, I had serious debt. So bad I never thought I would get out from under it. But in time and learning self-control that I didn’t need to have the next new thing every time it hit the shelves. Wouldn’t it be great to get that credit card statement, open it, and see that it was paid in full? No strings attached, just “Paid in Full” every time the statement came. Well, there was debt paid for you and I a little over 2 thousand years ago. Christ allowed himself to be put on the cross, to fulfill the scriptures, and die once and for all to cover our sins. No sin is too great, no sin has been in your life for too long, no sin no matter how horrific cant be forgiven by the blood of Christ.

Acts 13:38 “Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you”

And John 2:12 “…Dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name (Jesus)”.  It is one of the greatest truths we as Christians have in our life. To know that we are forgiven for any sin we commit. Now about that credit card bill………

Anyone that may read this and be debt, I would highly recommend Dave Ramsey books, they are wonderful!!

Think About This: There is no more blessed way of living, than the life of faith-based upon a covenant-keeping God – to know that we have no care, for He cares for us; that we need have no fear, except to fear Him; that we need have no troubles, because we have cast our burdens upon the Lord, and are conscience that He will sustain us.” – Charles Spurgeon
