That’s It?

Philippians 4:11-12 (ESV) Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.
I wrote this in the beautiful state of Vermont with temperatures in the teens. I count my blessings that we were able to be there and see our children and GRANDCHILDERN! We stayed at the same Airbnb that we had last year. It’s the perfect location, has everything we needed, and we truly felt at home. Downtown was two blocks away and is filled with great restaurants and shops.
What more could we have wanted?
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV) Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
We are blessed. On Wednesday 12/20, we had Christmas early with the grands since we would not be there on the Christmas Day. They’re only 4 yrs & 6 yrs old so I get their excitement of opening presents. Shirley picked out some really awesome things for both of them. They tore through the bags and wrapping paper faster than you can imagine. One package opened, then another, and another, until they were all opened. Then our youngest looked up at me and said, “THAT’S IT?” hoping that there would be more gifts hidden somewhere. I can guarantee that I did the same thing at that age. But when did I change? And when will my grands change? Only time and the love of Jesus can do that.
Psalm 90:14(ESV) Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
I’ve learned over these last 8 years of my life that wasn’t always content in my life, I always wanted or hoped for more. I spent money recklessly, did my own thing, and almost never put my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, first.
Exodus 20:17 (ESV) “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.”
I am blessed for what I have in life. And I am happy for those around me that have what they have. I have a roof over my head, food on the table, great family and friends, and the best wife any man could want. Life is good and that’s it!
Written by Robert Breault: Robert was blessed to work 8 years in the Keswick Raws kitchen and is now retired, well, almost. He’s a loving husband to Shirley, a wicked stepfather to Shirley’s three “Angels”/children, and a doting Pop-Pop to their two grandchildren, Charlotte and Max. But most important, he is a child of the one true King!
