Reveal and Heal

“Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.” Jeremiah 33:6

When it comes down to it, when we pray for supplications, the premise of our prayer is to “Reveal and Heal”. “Lord, please show me what is going on and then make it better” or “Lord I don’t like what’s happening right now, please help me to learn and be relieved of the pain”.

I’ve come to realize that most situations are either trials, tests or discipline. Whichever the case when discomfort from physical, emotional or spiritual pain comes into our lives it usually drives us to prayer. There are times we don’t understand the “why or why nots” but ideally when the root of our problems is revealed it’s only then we can be healed.

Jeremiah is hearing from the Lord concerning His people. God has always wanted us to see the error of our ways when we are disobedient, He also doesn’t waste our pain in the unavoidable circumstances of life. The “Count it all joy” theory that James had the revelation to write has to be a stamp of uniqueness that every Believer shares. The idea that trials are to be looked at as a means of growth is only comprehended by the Believer in Jesus Christ.

“Reveal and Heal” is the desire to learn and be made well. Our Great Physician is in the business of healing, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” Psalm 147:3. He is also near the brokenhearted,

“The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.” Psalm 34:17,18

Sometimes the biggest hindrance is the time it takes to heal. But God has all eternity to make us whole, it would appear sometimes He’s in no rush. He will allow us to wander in the wilderness for as long as it takes to finish the work He started. If you’re feeling like it’s too late in life to go through another trial, take heart, for the best is yet to come. The frustrations of this life can become weary and drain the energy from you, but God is in the business of “Reveal and Heal”. Maybe today you need a glimpse of eternity, the realization that we will one day have no more pain, no more sickness and our sorrows WILL be washed away. Amen!
