Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. ~Colossians 3:1

Too many times we walk through the significant days in the life of a believer on autopilot. We have sung the hymns, the praise songs, and it is just another day in paradise and we move on to the next thing. Guilty!

Yesterday we celebrated the glorious resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! He is alive! He is risen! And we start out a new week and a new day without realizing the implications of this significant event.

This morning I want to share from one of my favorite devotional reads, THE VALLEY OF VISION – Prayers of the Puritans. He is the prayer for Resurrection day:

O God of my Exodus: Great was the joy of Israel’s sons, when Egypt died upon the shore, Far greater the joy when the Redeemer’s foe lay crushed in the dust. Jesus strides forth as the victor, conqueror of death, hell and all opposing might! He bursts the bands of death, tramples the power of darkness down, and lives forever.

He, my gracious surety, apprehended for payment of my debt, comes forth from the prison house oif the grave free and triumphant over sin, Satan, and death!!!

Show me herein the proof that His vicarious offering is accepted, that the claims off justice have been satisfied, that the devil’s scepter is shivered, that his wrongful throne is leveled.

Give me the assurance that in Christ I died, in Him I rose, in His life I live, in His victory I triumph, and in His ascension I shall be glorified.

Adorable Redeemer, You who was lifted up upon a cross are ascended to highest heaven. You, who as Man of sorrows was crowned with thorns, are now as Lord of life wreathed with glory.

Once, no shame more deep that thine, no agony more bitter, no death more cruel. Now no exaltation more high, no life more glorious, no advocate more effective.

You are in the triumph car leading captive Your enemies behind You. What more could be done that You have done? Your death is MY life, Your resurrection MY peace, Your ascension MY hope, Your prayers MY comfort.

I hope today that you will continue to celebrate His resurrection. The implications of His resurrection have significance for YOU, by brother!!! Rejoice! He is risen! He is risen indeed!

Daily Quote: Immanuel, God with us in our nature, in our sorrow, in our lifework, in our punishment, in our grave, and now with us, or rather we with Him, in resurrection, ascension, triumph, and Second Advent splendor.  ~Charles Haddon Spurgeon

This Week’s Verse to Memorize:

God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah ~Psalm 46:1-3
