The Lord is My Banner
Posted on October 29, 2019 by America's Keswick in Victory Call
There was a time in the Scripture when Moses had to keep his rod over his head. It was the time when Joshua and Israel’s army were at war with the Amalekites. When Moses had his rod held high, Israel was victorious, but when he let his hands down the Amalekites were victorious. Naturally Moses arms grew weary. Aaron and Hur came to the rescue!! Aaron and Hur rolled a stone to Moses so he could sit on it, and they stood on each side of him, holding up his hands until sunset. As a result, Joshua and his troops crushed the army of Amalek. When the day of battle was done Moses directed that an altar be built and called it “The Lord is my Banner.” (See Exodus 17:8-16)
Do you ever feel like you are in a battle? You are absolutely trying your best but you get to a place where you feel like you simply can’t press on another minute?
Perhaps your teenage daughter is pressing you for permission to do something “everyone is doing” but you are withholding your permission. You sought the Lord and you believe He directed you to hold firm. But you are getting weary. What can you do? Dear one, even Moses needed a shoulder to lean on. Call a faithful sister or two in Christ who will hold up your arms.
Perhaps you’re a single Mom. You keep your life organized and watch your resources carefully. Then a series of things happen that you had no control over. Life happens. You are totally stressed as you watch resources disappear. You are physically, spiritually and emotionally spent. What do you do? Dear one, even Moses needed a shoulder to lean on. Call a faithful sister or two in Christ who will hold up your arms.
We are the body of Christ. We have many members. Let us call for help when we need it and let us be help when sisters are going through a time of challenge. When the battle is won we can then come together and celebrate giving thanks for “The Lord is our Banner”!!
Blessings,
