Something to think about…

Waiting for inspiration.
Wouldn’t it be a good idea at the end of each day to take an account of all the thoughts that went through our minds? We could itemize them in categories under titles such as: humble, proud, anxious, peaceful, covetous, jealous, loving, angry, fearful, trusting, focused, day-dreaming, meditating on the Lord…or not.
Our lists would reveal what our will chose to spend our thoughts on that day.
Thoughts, like money, can be spent on things that have value or things that are worthless. We can take the time to account for one day’s expenditures and allow the Holy Spirit to audit our “books”. Then His gentle guiding will help us balance our thought life to reflect His will, which we find in Philippians 4:8:
“And now, dear (brothers and) sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable.Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”
