On Christ, the Solid Rock, I Stand

Posted on November 22, 2018 by America's Keswick in Victory Call

While on vacation in New Hampshire, I enjoyed the beautiful colors of fall before they came to New Jersey. I also enjoyed spectacular views of God’s creation. The lakes, waterfalls, mountains and views from upon high were breathtaking!

After returning from our vacation I reviewed some of the pictures Dave and I took. I found one picture of me standing on a rock in the middle of one of the rivers we visited. I was reminded that in the midst of the roaring waters of life that may surround us, we can stand on a firm foundation. He is our solid rock.  Perhaps the waters are swirling around your neck. I want to encourage you that there is a solid place to stand. Maybe you have felt yourself slip off the rock you were placing your hope in and you find yourself sitting in a muddy mess.  I want to tell you that Christ is still your Solid Rock.

I’ve have gone through some tough waters over the years. I am sure you have too. You and I must continue to choose to stand firm on Christ our Solid Rock. Let the words of this song be your comfort and encouragement today.

My hope is built on nothing less

Than Jesus blood and righteousness.

I dare not trust the sweetest frame,

But wholly lean on Jesus name.

Refrain: On Christ, the solid Rock I stand,

All other ground is sinking sand;

All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness veils His lovely face,

I rest on His unchanging grace.

In every high and stormy gale,

My anchor holds within the veil.(Refrain)

His oath, His covenant, His blood,

Support me in the whelming flood.

When all around my soul gives way,

He then is all my hope and stay.(Refrain)

When He shall come with trumpet sound,

Oh may I then in Him be found.

Dressed in His righteousness alone,

Faultless to stand before the throne.(Refrain)

Think About This: “Believe God’s love and power more than you believe your own feelings and experiences. Your rock is Christ, and it is not the rock that ebbs and flows but the sea.” – Samuel Rutherford

This Week’s Verse to Memorize:Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,  through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. — Romans 5:1-2
