God’s Supply

“God’s work done God’s way never lacks supply.” Hudson Taylor
I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.  To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. Philippians 4:18-20
This quote was shared recently and I have been pondering it ever since. Of course, it jumped out at me because of my job which involves fundraising. It was an encouragement and reminder to trust in the Lord and His ways, be obedient and watch what only He can do. This has been visible over and over again in my work.
As I continue to ponder I have looked at this quote in view of my own daily life and walk with the Lord. What am I doing that I consider MY work? I am to be doing the will of my Father and not chasing my own success, desires. Do my desires line up with His desires for me? Am I serving where I want to be or where He is placing me? Is what I am doing really being done for Him or is it all about what I want to do?
Taking a good look at my way and God’s way shows that I am caught short there also. How much is done out of habit with no thought to allowing the Lord to have His way in me? Is my day so structured that there is no place for the Spirit to bring divine appointments? Do I decide what I will do with my time or do I ask the Lord what He would want to see accomplished today? Is my plan always on the agenda or do I bring even my everyday tasks before the Lord?
God’s work – in the workplace or in my private life – must be done His way, under His divine guidance. When those two things go hand in hand He supplies! Not only monetarily but He provides, strength, wisdom, and every need for what is at hand.
May your day be one of aligning yourself to God’s work and will. May His supply bring you all you need!
Blessings,
Kathy
