Do You Have Time?

Only fools idle away their time. Proverbs 12:11 NLT
I was feeling like I hadn’t been using my personal time well. The things I really wanted to accomplish weren’t getting done. A good look at what was taking up my time showed me that I was not being intentional about how I spent my time. I usually like to make a list and cross things off after I complete a chore or errand, but I noticed I haven’t even been making lists lately.
In my reading one morning I was reminded of this:
“Time is a nonrenewable resource, but sometimes we behave as if it were limitless. We squander time chasing trivial pursuits and petty diversions. But our heavenly Father beckons each of us to a higher calling. God wants us to use our time wisely, to use it in accordance with His plan for our lives.” — Hugs for Moms, May 1
Well, I am back to making lists. I don’t make lists to be a taskmaster but just so I know I am using my time to get done the things that are necessary. I remain flexible within my list and always consider the unexpected can come up at any time. Therefore, what is not finished on one day is transferred to the next day. There is much advice available to those of us who need help managing their time. It can be as simple as a list or as involved as a personal planner. Whatever works for you will let you remember what needs to get done. Add into your time the willingness to keep in communication with the Lord. As He leads you through your day you will find that He provides strength, wisdom, discernment and more to help you accomplish the tasks at hand. Allowing Him to set your agenda brings meaning, purpose and fulfillment to your day. Often I find that I actually have more time when I follow my list with the Lord’s help. He truly does redeem our time!
Blessings,
Kathy
