Cozy and Cherished Christmas

Posted on December 6, 2021 by Catey Stover in Victory Call

I am wishing everyone a cozy little Christmas this year!

Last Christmas, I was blessed to spend time celebrating with my sister’s family – I was able to enjoy watching two adorable little elves and a cute little reindog who doesn’t care that the cookies are for Santa enjoy the excitement of the holiday.

Our Christmas Eve was a success! We stayed up late, had dance parties, watched Home Alone 2, made cookies from scratch, heard some mysterious jingle bells 🔔 outside the window, and read The Night Before Christmas!

But before the kids closed their eyes, nestled in their beds, and (pretended) to fall asleep, we read the TRUE Christmas Story… you know, the one about the bundled up little miracle who grew up to be the Everlasting Father? That one! 👶

2020 was an odd year full of change, as is 2021… but the Reason for the Season is still the same! As you gather with your loved ones, I encourage you to read the Christmas story in Matthew and Luke.

Here’s a little something to chew on this Christmas…

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
will accomplish this.
– Isaiah 9:6-7

As you head into this Christmas season, remember to wrap the gifts up in paper and wrap the night up in TRUTH. So thankful! 🙏 Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!!

Think About This: “Who can add to Christmas? The perfect motive is that God so loved the world. The perfect gift is that He gave His only Son. The only requirement is to believe in Him. The reward of faith is that you shall have everlasting life.’” – Corrie ten Boom

This Week’s Verse to Memorize: But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. –Colossians 3:14-15
