Complete Trust

Faith

/fāTH/

noun

  1. Complete trust or confidence in someone or something.

What does it mean to have “COMPLETE” trust and confidence in God? It means knowing that God can be relied upon, that He is El Roi, the God who sees.

We like to say we have ✨complete✨ trust in God, but we’ve also all been in situations where we try and take over instead of letting go and letting God. We can call that the ‘Know-It-All’ syndrome (hey, just being honest!)

Isaiah 12:2 says, “Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the Lord God is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation.”

Can I challenge you to meditate on that verse today? What does it mean to have the Lord God as our ‘strength, song, and salvation’?

When you’re done, think about something specific that stood out to you (if you’re seeing this on Facebook, you can even share it in the comments!), or some practical ways you can grow your trust in the Lord. 🙏

Think About This: “God never withholds from His child that which His love and wisdom call good. God’s refusals are always merciful — “severe mercies” at times but mercies all the same. God never denies us our hearts desire except to give us something better.” ― Elisabeth Elliot

This Week’s Verse to Memorize: 17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love [c]Him because He first loved us. -1 John 4:17-19
