Eternally Minded

Scrolling on Instagram, I found a post where a woman said “Being a godly woman is an eternal thing”, and it made me sit back and question everything in my life that is not an “eternal thing”… and I found myself extremely convicted.

How many times are we so caught up in things of this world that we miss out on what God is trying to say or do in our lives? How many earthly desires/possessions do we put above God?

I want to be a woman of God who puts Him first. I want my character to be shaped by Him alone. I want to live a life that is a reflection of my heart being transformed by the Gospel. Yet, I often find myself worried about what I look like, what people think of me, what I’m wearing, etc. I want to live a life that is focused upward on God, not inward on myself.

“19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21
