Are You Expecting Miracles?

Posted on April 24, 2019 by America's Keswick in Victory Call

It is the Hebrew month of Nissan.  This is most definitely one of my favorite Hebrew months.

The word Nissan comes from the root word “Nissim” meaning “miracle.”  It is in this month that the Jewish people celebrate Passover.  I am sure most of you know that it was during Passover that the Jews, who were trapped in slavery in Egypt, were set free by the blood of the lamb that they put on their door.  The blood was a sign to mark the homes of God’s people so that the destructive plague of death would pass over (See Exodus 12:3-14).

This is also the month our Lord and Savior went to the cross.  Jesus gave up His Spirit, at the same time Jews were sacrificing unblemished lambs in the temple.  However, He was the unblemished Lamb of God and He rose again on Resurrection Sunday.  In this way He paid a price we could have never paid.  As you and I embrace this Truth, the gift of salvation is ours and we will never die but rather live with Him for all eternity. (Romans 3:23; 5:8; 6:23;10:9-13)

For me and I hope for you, Passover and Resurrection Sunday are days to celebrate God’s love and power in delivering His people out of the hand of the enemy.  It is a time to praise God for His work of deliverance in the past, to seek Him for a fresh release of deliverance today and to gain faith for His work in you in the future.

Jesus is our Passover Lamb (1 Cor. 5:7). God could have had His Son die at anytime of the year, but He chose Him to die at Passover.  I believe God has given us Passover to teach us about Jesus.  Through Passover we can more fully understand that Jesus came as the Lamb of God.   His blood redeems us.  By His death, judgment was turned away and the power of the enemy was broken.  We can be released from bondage and oppression as we embrace the cross and resurrection of Jesus and make Him Lord of our lives.  In addition we are adopted into God’s Kingdom family with full access to the promises of God.  WOW!!

Embrace this season of miracles dear one.  I invite you to begin by making this declaration:
“I am redeemed by the blood of the Lamb out of the hand of the enemy.”

Blessings,

Pat

Think About This: “The Christian community is a community of the cross, for it has been brought into being by the cross, and the focus of its worship is the Lamb once slain, now glorified. So the community of the cross is a community of celebration, a eucharistic community, ceaselessly offering to God through Christ the sacrifice of our praise and thanksgiving. The Christian life is an unending festival. And the festival we keep, now that our Passover Lamb has been sacrificed for us, is a joyful celebration of his sacrifice, together with a spiritual feasting upon it.” – John Stott

This Week’s Verse to Memorize: For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. – 2 Corinthians 5:14-15
