I say all the time that the ministry of America’s Keswick is ONLY explainable by God. None of it makes any sense apart from God. He works in ways that are only traceable to HIS hand.
The last several weeks we have had an unusual amount of things breakdown: the pool heater died, a boiler at the Activity Center was condemned and needs to be replaced, the Welte Activity Center roof is leaking, our major copier is falling apart, and the air conditioning for the Raws kitchen is not working.
I met a friend of the ministry last weekend and out of the blue he said, “My guess is there is equipment breaking down, maintenance problems, projects that have stalled because funding has slowed down, and maybe some big projects that you can’t take care of.” How did he know?
He asked me to send him a list of those things within 48 hours. That afternoon, we made a pretty big list – not of wants, but needs – and I emailed him.
The next morning, he emailed me and asked if we could meet at 3:00 PM. I called exactly at 3 PM and wanted to go over my list. After several questions, he said that he totaled up the list and it came to $800,000. I gulped!
He said that he and his wife were praying and made the decision to send ONE MILLION DOLLARS so that we could take care of these issues.
Admittedly, I cried like a baby. He said, “I can’t preach. I can’t sing. But I can give to help you do what God has called you to do.”
We have all shed many tears of joy. We are rejoicing in the goodness of our God. He has, once again, demonstrated HIS faithfulness and HIS ability to meet our needs.
Not all of the miracles have been quite that dramatic. But HE did for us what He did for the disciples that day when the storm on the Sea of Galilee erupted with a ferocious storm. But Jesus, asleep during the storm, came up and spoke peace, and the winds and the waves were stilled.
I am thankful that during this 100th summer season, our theme is “Anchored – Faithful Through the Ages.” He is still doing the impossible.
