Do You Really Believe God is Good?

God is good all the time, all the time God is good. Do you believe that?? I do. There are people that say that, but do they really believe it? It’s really easy to say those things when life is going good. But can you really say that when life is hard and you are hurting, or maybe being tested? Or do you doubt His goodness and His love, when things don’t go the way you wanted them to?

Well I’ve thought a lot about this lately, and I believe that just because you don’t like the way something turned out doesn’t mean you doubt God’s goodness. Here is an example: I prayed 6 years ago that God would help my family when we were a mess. Ray was in his addiction, I was pretending life was great, Eric was struggling privately with homosexuality, and Lindsay was struggling in a relationship that wasn’t good. And God said the foundation was bad and He would tear it down. So I said great. Well what happened next was awful, my kids moved out, my husband went in to a rehab, and I was left alone. I then was told by a so-called Christian pastor that it was all my fault. If I had been a better wife and mother these things would not have happened. WOW. But if those things did not happen, my family would not be where we are today. Ray went through the colony I went through Women of Character, and because we became “ healthy” our children are back in our lives and our family is restored. Now God did what He said he would and healed us and freed us from bondage, but it was not the way I would have done it. While I was in the throws of this I must say I doubted His goodness, but the truth is He is good. Not liking what is happening isn’t the same as doubting God’s goodness. I don’t like medicine but I KNOW it will make me better. I don’t always like what is happening but I BELIEVE AND KNOW that God is good all the time, and all the time God is good.
