When God Shows Up!

We’ve all had them, right? There are those moments on our journey when life seems to spiral out of control. It seems like you are going from one disaster or crisis to another and there is no hope.

I had one of those weeks. In the midst of a great week outwardly, things seem to be unraveling: staff issues, Covid, extreme heat, potential plumbing disaster and so much more.

But on Sunday morning heading into Week #3, the Lord met me at my point of need during my quiet time:

Daily Light: Be patient in tribulation. Romans 12:12
In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. John 16:33
Is there anything too hard for the Lord? With God all things are possible. Lord, increase our faith. Matthew 9:26; Luke 17:5

In the Lord I Take Refuge (Dane Ortlund): Are you in distress? Are you overwhelmed? Marinate your heart in the power and love of the Savior.

“I’m thankful that a life lived close to You is never dull or predictable. I can expect to encounter some surprises each day. Instead of following my natural tendency – to search for the easiest route through the day – I want to follow You, wherever You lead. No matter how steep or treacherous the path that lies before me, I don’t need to be afraid. You are always near.”

New Morning Mercies: Don’t be discouraged today. No matter how alone you feel, you’ve been blessed with the Father’s love.

Do you feel alone today? Do you struggle to find reasons to continue? Do you wonder if it’s worth it? Does it seem that there’s no one to share your heart with? Do you sometimes wonder whether anyone cares?

The Father comes to you in grace to comfort, strengthen, encourage, and restore.

His love towards you is tender and faithful

He is near you when it seems no one else is.

He will care for you when no one else does.

He will heal your wounds when no one around you seems to see how wounded you are.

He will never mock or take advantage of your weakness.

He will not let you unnoticed or disregarded.

If you are His child, it is impossible for you to be alone and unloved because your heavenly Father is with you and reaches out to you in tender, restoring love.

He comes to you as a life-giver, not a life-destroyer.

When your hope is fading and your faith is weak, he is not impatient and he does not grow frustrated.

His beautiful mercy breathes life into your heart and vitality to your soul.

He is slow to anger and abounding in mercy.

He is the source of all true compassion.

He really is the Father of all comfort.

He is a tender High Priest who is touched by our feeling of weakness and offers us just the mercy we need in our time of need.

He is an ever-faithful friend.

He is the Father who invites us onto His lap to be comforted by His love.

Life can be hard, people can be cruel, and there are times when you feel left alone, but you are never completely alone because your Father is with you in tender restorative love!!!

Just maybe you have been there. Maybe you are there right now. My guess is that what the Lord graciously gave to me last Sunday morning is what you need to hear from His lips to your ears. I’d love to hear from you: bwelte@americaskeswick.org.
