Exodus 20:4 you shall not make for yourself an idol
Last time we got into the 1st Commandment, Now for #2.
In Luke we hear that “No servant can serve two masters” (Luke 16:13.) Easier said than done! But what happens when a hobby or some other form of enjoyment takes over our lives? We hear horror stories of people hording things to the point where they can’t move in their own homes. They always need to have the latest and newest toys on the market. Clothes, jewelry, phones, cars. One colony man told me that he had several pairs of shoes that cost $600 EACH!! Let’s not forget about the terrible idols we have. Drugs alcohol, pornography, and that list goes on. “Do not store up treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal” Matt 6:19. Sure, we all deserve to have nice things that we can enjoy, and maybe hand down to our children or grandchildren, but we all know that there are things that take away from the one true thing we need to seek out and love more than any treasure that we could possible acquire. I have seen a church put their building ahead of the needs of furthering the kingdom of God. Idols are everywhere in our society , how we choice to look and hold on to them will dictate our walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Whats holding you back today?

Daily Quote: “If we exalt money, status, or sex above the Word of God, we are living in idolatry. Every time we inwardly submit to the strongholds of fear, bitterness, and pride, we are bowing to the rulers of darkness. Each of these idols must be smashed, splintered, and obliterated from the landscape of our hearts.”

– Francis Frangipane

This Week’s Verse to Memorize:
