NAHUM 1:7
The last three years have been anything but calm. Around the globe covid has taken its toll, natural disasters have killed, forest fires are ravaging country side destroying millions of acres, and floods and hurricanes, and our own country has been thrown into a turmoil that I hope will never be seen again. Inflation at an all-time high. And let’s not forget Mr. Putin trying to take over the world one country at a time! When times get tough in our own lives too many of us turn to the things the devil wants us to have, alcohol, drugs, depression and the list goes on.
But through all of what is happening around us who and what we believe in is what gets us through these trying times. In Nahum 1:7 “The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble, He cares for those who trust in Him.” Leaning on God when troubles come, and they will come, is the only answer to what and how we need to deal with them. The Bible is the ultimate instruction book on how to live a full and enjoyable Christian life. Easier said than done…right? The Devil, with God’s permission, starts small with his attacks; an unexpected car repair that is needed, a medical need that pops up, your child needs this and that for school. Proverbs 3:5 “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” None of us know what is going to happen tomorrow, next week or next year. So, we need to keep our focus on the one thing that will be there today, tomorrow, and always… Jesus Christ! Keep Him close to your heart and He will carry you through these unprecedented times!
