TWENTY-FOUR DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

Posted on November 27, 2023 by Elizabeth Welte in Freedom Fighters

I trust you had a blessed Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Service with our addiction recovery residents from the Colony of Mercy and Barbara’s Place. The testimonies were so sweet and precious.

Earlier in November, I did a blog with a journaling challenge with verses on Thanksgiving and gratitude. What I learned is this: The phrase “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good” appears 44 times in the Bible. The topic of Thanksgiving is addressed 102 times in the Old Testament and 72 times in the New Testament. “Praise the Lord” – 250 times. These alone total over 468!!!

So many of you participated that I decided it might be fun to have you write out the verses of the Christmas story. So here are the verses. If you missed the Thanksgiving one – how about doing the Christmas verses?

Grab a journal or a notebook and write out the passage in your favorite translation. Then, write a sentence or two about the verses and what God will teach you.

I look forward to doing this with you. Some of you did the last one with a friend or even your small group.

Am I thankful for you? I sure am.
