1. God promises that He is sovereign and in control of ALL things.
The Big things …
- 911
- Hurricane Sandy
- Financial disasters
- National tragedies
- International turmoil
- The Little Things
- Health issues
- Financial struggles
- Stuff with our kids
Church issues WHATEVER — Psalm 46:1 – God IS our refuge and strength and EVER PRESENT HELP in of need.
2. God promises us that He is with us ALWAYS
Deuteronomy 31:8 And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
Hebrews 13:5-6 Let you conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?
3. God promises us that He will provide for ALL our needs.
- He will supply ALL our needs
- Never seen the righteous forsaken …
- Don’t worry about your clothes, food etc …
He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing … Ephesians 1:3 & He gives us everything we need for life and godliness
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 1 Peter 1:2-3
He lavishes His love towards us. Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! 1 John 3:1
He gives us hope – abounding hope
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
He gives us abounding grace And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8
4. God promises us that He will give us His grace:
- Grace to save us
- Grace to keep and sustain us
- Grace to lead us home
5. God promises us that He will complete what He started.
Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ …”
Conclusion:
- There is no reason to fear.
- There is no reason to be filled with despair.
- There is no reason for us to flee.
Are you excited about 2016? Is there an area in your life right now where you need confidence? Tell Him first, and if you feel safe, let me know so I can pray with you.
