Good morning, brothers. Last week we looked a five principles about truth for you to remember. Today I want to give you a picture of what our relationship to truth should look like. These came from devotional writer, Roy Lessin (Meet Me in the Meadow):
We should –
- Know the Truth: “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32
- Practice the Truth: “But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” John 3:21
- Worship in Truth: “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.” John 4:24.
- Bear Witness to the Truth: “You have sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth.” John 5:33
- Speak the Truth: “ … but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—“ Ephesians 4:15
- Be guided by the Truth: “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” John 16:13
- Be sanctified by the Truth: “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” John 17:17
- Obey the Truth: “ … but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath,…” Romans 2:8
- Rejoice in the Truth: “ …does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth.” 1 Corinthians 13:6
- Do nothing against the Truth: “ For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.” 2 Corinthians 13:8
- Be girded with Truth: “Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness …” Ephesians 6:14
- Love the Truth: “ and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” 2 Thessalonians 2:10
- Believe the Truth: “that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:12
- Rightly handle and skillfully teach the Truth: “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
- Welcome the Truth: “Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith;” 2 Timothy 3:8
- Listen to the Truth: “and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” 2 Timothy 4:4
- Be established in Truth: “For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth.” 2 Peter 1:12
- Walk in Truth: “ I rejoiced greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, as we received commandment from the Father.” — 2 John 1:4
Good reminders of our relationship to truth. How are you doing?

Think About This: “The quickest way to slay error is to proclaim the truth. The surest mode of extinguishing falsehood, is to boldly advocate Scripture doctrine upon Scripture principles. Scolding and protesting will not be so effectual in resisting the progress of error as the clear proclamation of the truth in Jesus.” — C.H. Spurgeon
This Week’s Verse to Memorize: Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them. – Genesis 3:21
