Mark 6

Mark 6:31….” Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest”

My world is very chaotic this time of year. Adding to it, our daughter has moved back to New Jersey and is staying with us for a few months till she gets settled. We are so happy she is with us, but having a child move back in when the last 9 years has just been Shirley and I throws a little wrench into the mix. A few days ago, I came home after a rather interesting day. Instead of venting, I put my feet up on the recliner and just closed my eyes to seek some peace. And it worked. Instead of venting, we talked about things and I felt better.

As I write this blog, I am sitting in our special place looking up Schroon Lake and just reflecting on how Jesus just needed to get away from the chaos in his daily life and find “a quiet Place” to reflect on the things going on around him. Doing God’s work is a blessing that I cherish. And being at Americas Keswick has changed my life in so many ways for the better but…..There are times where I just need a quiet place to gather my thoughts, pray for wisdom in the things that I’m doing. Whether at work, home, at church, or when I’m out and about in our chaotic world in which we live. Proverbs 14:30 “a heart at peace gives life to the body…” This very VERY short trip to upstate NY has calmed my soul and given me renewed energy to serve those around me. When you need to get away from all the Hussle and bustle of your daily life, go find that special place that you can just be still and listen to what God has in store for you. Where is your quiet place???

This Week’s Verse to Memorize: Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. 1 John 3:2-3
