Jan and I have lived on the Keswick property for 26 years, and God has been so good to us. As retirement looms in our future, one of our concerns is where we would live. Coupled with that is a list of housing needs for staff.
Well, God MIRACULOUSLY provided a home for us to live around the corner from America’s Keswick. We are officially one of the “Crestwoodians – the Village People!”
We have been working through the process of owning a home, and there were a number of snags in getting the paperwork. After many calls with our attorney, we were coming down to the wire as to when we could move. We had set a date to move on our vacation so that we could be settled in before our conference season begins.
Our move date was to be Tuesday, June 22nd. On Monday, we still did not have any of the closing paperwork. It was supposed to be FedEx-ed to us (and we still don’t have the paperwork as of 6/23), and it never came.
Our HOA would work with us if we could provide them with a copy of the new deed. It didn’t even have to be notarized – just a copy!!!
At 5:30 PM on Monday, we still didn’t have the copy that was supposed to be emailed to us. I circled around with four of my trusted advisors, and they all said that we should move on Tuesday by faith.
While I understood their reasoning, in my heart, I was battling with the fact that moving without that document was not integrity. Three of my grands have been with us to help us move, and they are all watching this unfold.
Tuesday morning, we started to pack up the trucks. In the pit of my stomach was struggling. I was crying out to the Lord for His help and intervention.
The trucks were ready to pull out of our driveway, and my phone vibrated. It was a message from the attorney saying that a copy of the new deed was in my email!!! God showed up at 11:59 ½!!! We experienced another miracle.
I wish you could have seen the look on my grandkid’s faces when I told them what God had done. It felt so good to know that God honors our integrity.
Over the years, I have seen God show up RIGHT on time. He is NEVER late. He is never early. He is right on time.
I love Proverbs 3:5-6, and I memorized it in the King James Version. But I love how it reads in the NLT: Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
As we begin this new week, take some time to meditate on Proverbs 3:5-6. And remember – integrity matters.
