God is Faithful

Someone this morning needs to be reminded today that God is faithful. My guess is that you might be able to share how God WAS faithful in your life in the past. Knowing that He has been faithful in the past will help you trust Him in the future.

But I am thankful that God IS faithful TODAY!

Devotional author Ray Lessin in his book, Meet Me in the Meadow, reminds us that:

God does not want you to place your focus on your needs but on His faithfulness.

God does not want you to place your focus on world problems but on His faithfulness.

God does not want you to place your focus on your circumstances but on His faithfulness.

God does not want you to focus on your feelings or opinions but on His faithfulness.

God does not want you to focus on political change but on His faithfulness.

He goes on to share “the truth of God’s faithfulness is something each of us will need to be reminded of many times throughout our lives. Our faith needs to rest in His faithfulness; our feet need to stand upon His faithfulness; our heart needs to trust in His faithfulness; our emotions need to celebrate His faithfulness; our mouths need to proclaim His faithfulness.”

The hymn writer, Thomas Chisholm, penned these words:

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God, my Father.
There is no shadow of turning with Thee.
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided —
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Amen?

Relentlessly pursuing Christ,
