Majesty (Part 2)

Posted on June 3, 2019 by America's Keswick in Freedom Fighters

To the one only true God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory (splendor), majesty, might, and dominion, and power and authority, before all time and now and forever (unto all the ages of eternity), Amen (so be it). Jude 1:25 Amplified

Our Keswick group was doing a trip to Alaska and one of our stops was in the town of Juno. Most of our group were off doing side tours. Jan, Zach and I stayed back and rode the cable car to the top of Mount Juno. One of our dear friends, Carol Smith, asked if she could tag along.

We visited a cool zoo and then we saw a walking trail that led further up the mountain. We decided to take the short hike and after walking for about ten minutes, we came to a spot that had been cleared which provided a 360 panoramic view of the area.

Everywhere you turned there was beauty. We say a waterfall. We saw snow on top of a mountain peak. We saw beautiful trees and flowers. It was just a gorgeous display of God’s majesty and creative hand.

Carol climbed up on the picnic table and said we should all sing Majesty:

Majesty, worship His majesty.
Unto Jesus be all glory, honor, and praise.
Majesty, kingdom authority
Flow from His own unto His own His anthem raise.
So exalt, lift up on high the name of Jesus.
Magnify, come glorify Christ Jesus, the King.
Majesty, worship His majesty —
Jesus who died, now glorified, King of all kings.

Text and music – Dr. Jack Hayford

We did and it was so cool. Afterwards she yelled out in praise:
“God, You done so good – you done so good!”

It was a moment I will never forget.

I recently read this from Roy Lessin: God is in the “awe” in awesome, the “wonder” in wondrous, the “splendid” in splendor, the “magnificent” in magnificence, and the “grand” in grandeur. No one else and nothing else can measure His greatness.

I love the words to another great praise chorus:

We declare Your majesty; we proclaim that Your name is exalted!
For You reign magnificent, You rule victorious, Your pow’r is shown throughout the earth.

And we exclaim: “Our God is mighty!” Lift up you Your name, for You are holy! Sing it again, all honor and glory! In adoration we bow before Your throne.”  Text and Music – Malcom du Plessis

You may want to post that Roy Lessin quote on your car dashboard or your bathroom as a reminder this week of HIS MAJESTY!!!
