A Newness of Life

What matters is not the opinion or belief you hold, but what is true and corresponds with reality.
Because Christ died, and because those who by faith in His work of salvation have been united with Him in His death; “just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may walk in newness of life.” (Romans 6:4)
So… what is this new life? First, it is a life established on the foundation of God’s Love and Glory. “For God so loves you and me that He gave His Son as a sacrificial gift on our behalf. And if God did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He also with Jesus, who is alive having an indestructible life, how we He not also freely give us all things?” (Rom 8:32)
Second, it’s a life ruled by a New Administration. Having chosen Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are now under “… the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus’ that has set you free from the law of sin and death. You see God did what the Law of Moses could not do because it depended on your weak and willful self. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our willful selves but instead follow The Spirit.” (Romans 8:1-4)
Third, this new life that is ours is free to enjoy living as God intended… released from the power of sin, no longer controlled by our passions and appetites.
Having believed, we now know that truth is in Jesus, and in reference to our old self; which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, we know it has been crucified with Christ, no longer having dominion over us, and the life we now live is by faith in Jesus. This being true, we are renewed in the spirit of our mind, now being guided by His Word, we put on the new self, which is in the likeness of God having been forged in the crucible of the Cross, revealing the righteousness and holiness of the truth, that is Christ’s indestructible life. (Eph 4:21-24) All this is yours by grace through Faith in the One who loves you with His life. If you choose to abide in His Love, you will know a rest that is only found in Him; a refuge of peace and joy in the midst of all life’s storms.
Choose wisely….
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” (Psalm 23:4-6 NIV)
