When Revival Is No Longer An Option, God Will Send Ruin! II

“In that day the fair virgins and strong young men shall faint from thirst. Those who swear by the sin of Samaria, who say, ‘As your god lives, O Dan!’ And, ‘as the way of Beersheba lives!’ They shall fall and never rise again.” Amos 8:13-14 (NKJV)

Well, if you have read Wednesday’s Freedom Fighter you know I had mentioned that I had a few items left to go over concerning the title of this devo today. I’m not too sure where you stand as far as taking God’s Word as it is written but, as for me, as time has gone by, there are things in it that have manifest themselves in our everyday life. With that said, the finally day is approaching and for all the revival that you can pray for, only a remnant will be taken up into the clouds…the rest are gonna be left behind. That truth oughta scare everyone on the earth, but it don’t and it won’t in the hearts of those who believe themselves good people who didn’t really do the bad stuff.

Amos had quite the task ahead of him as God took him on walk-about through Ammon, Edom, and Moab until he arrived in Samaria. He had also traveled to the lands of both the Philistines and the Phoenicians. His visit to the city of Tyre left him so horrified that by the time he got to Bethel, and got a gander of that golden calf that was made a century and a half before, his blood boiled with rage. His preaching has been said to be that of cold logic, where cause and consequence were at the root of Amos’ preaching. It’s safe to say that Amos was a prophet of law, as cut-n-dry as it was.

Imagine him as a 21st century prophet. John Philips describes this as like a cowboy riding outta the Badlands, wearing a ten-gallon hat, cowboy boots, his face rough and weather beaten, ready to take names. He goes into Las Vegas where people are sick with gambling fever, then San Francisco where God’s bow has been altered, then to New Orleans on any given Fat Tuesday, and he finishes his tour at one of the many liberal seminaries where polished professors tear the Bible to shreds. He stays at a Holiday Inn and he turns on the television only to see uncensored filth, watches the news only to be listening to a president who quotes Scripture but supports abortion. Yeah, blood boiling stuff right there.

“The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion that they should believe the lie that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” – 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

I’ve heard many prayers for revival in my short time as an “American Christian” and there ain’t a thing wrong with that HOWEVER I have never heard anyone ask for God to bring, not judgement, but ruin. How many of us would actually ask El Elyon to send us the same kinda ruin that His Chosen received for all the nonsense that they did back in those ancient days? An Old Testament kinda of ruin! A Sodom and Gomorrah kinda ruin! Very, very, very few of us, but as we are living in these times where what Romans 1:18-32 is telling us is that we do have those who would suppress the truth with gladness to do so and never realizing that its part of a curse. Simply because they’ve allowed themselves to believe that their “prosperity” speaks to their belief in God. Well, the devils believe in Him too, so there’s that…

As of right now we have a generation that is falling for the lie that’s there is no absolute truth, everyone’s opinion is valid (unless your opinion is biblical), and that the only real modern-day sin to worry about is to judge. Why is this happening? Well, it’s January and it used to be preach on tithing month BUT apparently that chases new people away so forget that. How about the old “join our church and be about God’s business” stuff? Eh, that also chases folks away, after all, they gotta paying day job for that. And apparently the whole of CHURCH is under fire because what shoulda been in the world became of the world and people don’t like hypocrites? Anyway…

We were created with a spiritual capacity, but our minds sorta crave stuff that is exciting, soul filling and can give us answers. God’s Word does that, but if folks aren’t paying it forward (and what I mean by that is if God’s Word isn’t comin’ outta your mouth to people then no one is hearing it) then it’ll lose its value to people and they’ll treat The Bible as a common book. Is this what Jesus meant about no flavored salt being only good for road asphalt? Hmmm…bottom line here, an individual revival is needed and you get a chance to save that person from the ruin that God is sending. How do you that? Simply talk Torah, speak in Bible, share the Gospel, tell others about the hope that you have in your heart that’s saves all from ruin. Amen?
