An Extraordinary Life

In a culture of self gratification and ‘my rights’ mentality, it is encouraging to know a young man engaged in a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual battle that is more concerned for the salvation of others than his own welfare. It’s not that He disregards his own life, but that He is confident that Jesus has his back. It’s like what Paul says, ‘whether at home in my body or with the Lord, I am at rest or abiding in Him; with this ambition, to be pleasing to Him’ (2 Cor 5). It is extraordinary for a young person in today’s culture to profess the truth that Jesus is Lord of their life, especially one who is in a fight for his own life. This would be a powerful example of walking by faith and not by what we see.

Jesus comes to us in unexpected ways, to do through us, life changing things. And this… for the purpose of unveiling His glory, love, mercy, and grace so we will be transformed by faith to holding a greater faith (Rom 1:17). We miss these opportunities because we discern them through our own filter of convenience and pleasure; calling our circumstances bad and evil. When all along God intended ‘the good’ of raising up an extraordinary life out of a struggle, as a beacon of hope to a corrupt and evil generation.

This is what we need today, young people willing to entrust their lives to Jesus, so that others will see the light of God’s love and the truth of His Word pour out of them. I have the humble honor of knowing several who have been set on this course and pray earnestly that they abide in Jesus, regardless of their circumstances, and see our God at work through them; establishing extraordinary lives that light ‘the way’ home for so many others.

Praying for you always

Here I am… arms wide open;

Pouring out my life…

Gracefully broken.
