Opioid Crisis and Response
Thursday, April 30, 2020, at 10 – 11:30am
With rise of opioid abuse, overdose deaths continue to increase in the United States. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (2019) provide alarming statistics. Additionally, these statistics do not even begin to shed light on the related social issues. Opioid addiction and abuse have a real impact on the individual’s family and friends, financial implications both individually and globally, as well as other residual social effects. The Church needs to be a major influence in the answer and to do that we need to grow in wisdom. During this training we will give an overview of the epidemic, the world’s response and the challenge to the church. Our government has included a faith based component to solving this problem; we have an open invitation to get involved.
HOSTED BY Juan Mendez, Director of the Colony of Mercy & Dr. Lynne Jahns, Director of Barbara’s Place
This is a free training and no registration required.
