King David’s life was filled with many challenging situations. Here is no different. At this point of his journey he had recently defeated the Philistines and proceeded to build a place for the Ark of God. He had the ability to stretch his arm to praise God regardless of his circumstances. And I believe that part of his success was that he gained a healthy perception on God. Not just as a Savior, or the Creator, or the Rock, but all these attributes and more.

He thanks God, knowing that He is good. Lately I have notice that many testimonies attest that God is good, by some extraordinary event He accomplished. I experienced this in myself as I thank God for another great Christmas. While watching the guys in the Colony receive their Christmas gifts for their families and themselves, I was reminded; this was me ten years ago. It reminded me of the hope and it made me feel special after years of bondage and abnormal living.

However, is God not good regardless of the way my life is turning out? Or that I have a little extra Christmas gifts to give and receive. David mentions that he was thankful because God is good, and that His loves endures forever.

I can’t even comprehend everlasting, enduring love. Humanity has a limited ability to love and I’m thankful to God that His love isn’t conditional. His love is patient, His Love kind, His love is everlasting; the list goes on. This is the love that kept him on the cross. The love that pushes past humanity’s flaws and loves us anyway. Yes, when we are good and when we are bad; God love endures. This isn’t a license to sin, but a realty that should empowers us to live free from sin. His love endures forever, and I’m thankful. Have you ever truly embraced His everlasting love?
