Learning to be Obedient in all Things

Recently we have been struggling financially, and it felt like we were back in the past as far as our finances go. I started to ask God ‘why?’ Why are we not experiencing freedom from ‘never having enough?’ I’ve learned through the years as I’ve grown in my faith that it is not the amount of money we make but the God we serve that provides for
our needs, and as part of our testimony the Lord blessed us with a house. So why would the Lord bless us with a home if we could not afford to keep it? Our circumstances were not a surprise to our Father. So what’s happening?

As I prayed, the Lord convicted me that we have stopped tithing. So we confessed and repented and promised to tithe. We also realized that we had been complaining and planning to find a way to move so things would be cheaper, which really was lacking gratitude for what the Lord had done for us. So again, together we asked for the Lord to forgive our ungratefulness and lack of faith in what He has given to us. We prayed that what He had given us He would continue to provide for us.

Psalm 34:17-18 says “When the righteous cry for help the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”

And that is exactly what He did. The Lord provided for all we needed and then He showed off and provided for the next 2 months. I pray that this encourages someone today. Remember Father loves us and wants to give us what we
need. I praise the Lord that He speaks to us today just as He did long ago if we bother to listen.

God bless

Daily Quote: God desires to show His power through your storm, but is your lack of faith keeping Him from doing so? God brings storms into your life to show His strength and to gain glory from His providence.” – Paul Chappell
