I. INTRODUCTION

Mission: America’s Keswick is a multi-generational, cross-cultural ministry where biblical teaching and worship lead to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ, resulting in a transformed life. We serve people with excellence through addiction recovery, conferences, events, retreats and outreach.

 

Purpose: The purpose of America’s Keswick is to model and teach biblical victorious living in Christ Jesus, to provide an environment in which biblical life transformation takes place and to foster active personal involvement in the local church.

 

Department Purpose:  The purpose of the Guest Services Department is to demonstrate a Christ-like environment through contact, connection and communication.  This is accomplished in the areas of sales, reservations and servicing our guests.

 

Position Purpose:  The purpose of the Group Sales Manager is to generate new group business and cultivate long-term relationships with churches, ministries, schools, organizations, and retreat leaders. This position serves as the primary sales representative for group bookings and is responsible for managing the sales process from initial inquiry through the execution of a signed contract. Upon contract execution, responsibility for group management transitions to the Group Sales Coordinator.

 

II. ESSENTIAL COMPONENTS

  1. The one holding this position must be a mature Christian, able to effectively lead and demonstrate Christ-likeness. It is imperative that this person always conduct themselves in a manner as to uphold a solid testimony in harmony with traditional, conservative, evangelical values. He or she must completely adhere to the doctrinal position of America’s Keswick and seek to live the principles of God’s Word. It is understood that failure to maintain a high standard of personal testimony will be grounds for dismissal.
  2. This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma. Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Communications, Ministry, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
  3. This position requires a minimum of three years of successful experience in sales, business development, hospitality sales, event sales, church relations, customer service, or a related field.
  4. Demonstrated ability to build relationships, negotiate agreements, and close sales opportunities.
  5. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Asana, and CRM/reservation software. Ability to learn Shelby, RezStream, and other ministry software platforms. Above average computer skills are necessary.
  7. The ability to work in a busy environment is required.
  8. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal departments.
  9. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple sales opportunities simultaneously.
  10. Sales and negotiation skills are required to execute role in guest and group relationships for financial packages and discounts.
  11. Must possess a servant-hearted attitude and a passion for helping ministries and organizations accomplish their mission through retreat experiences.

 

III. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales & Business Development

  1. Serve as the primary point of contact for all prospective group inquiries.
  2. Respond promptly to leads generated through phone calls, email, website inquiries, referrals, networking, and marketing initiatives through our Project Management Program.
  3. Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline of churches, schools, ministries, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and retreat groups.
  4. Conduct discovery conversations to assess group needs, goals, accommodations, meeting space requirements, and budget expectations.
  5. Prepare and present proposals, pricing packages, and customized retreat solutions.
  6. Negotiate pricing, accommodations, meeting space, and service offerings within approved guidelines.
  7. Generate and secure signed contracts and deposits for group events.
  8. Consistently pursue new business opportunities through outbound calls, networking, relationship-building, church visits, conferences, and industry events.
  9. Conduct campus tours for prospective groups and event planners.
  10. Maintain detailed sales records, notes, and communication histories within designated systems.
  11. Meet or exceed established sales goals, revenue targets, occupancy goals, and group booking objectives.

Relationship Management

  1. Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with group leaders, pastors, ministry leaders, and organizational decision-makers.
  2. Maintain regular communication with prospective and returning groups to encourage repeat bookings.
  3. Develop strategies to increase retention and rebooking of existing groups.

Administrative Responsibilities

  1. Prepare contracts, proposals, pricing agreements, and sales correspondence.
  2. Track sales activity, lead conversion rates, booking metrics, and revenue performance.
  3. Provide regular sales forecasts and pipeline reports to the Guest Services Director and Director of Strategic Initiatives.
  4. Ensure all signed contracts and required information are accurately transferred to the Group Sales Coordinator for event execution.
  5. Participate in department meetings and strategic planning initiatives.
  6. Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

 

IV. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Group Sales Manager reports directly to the Guest Services Director and will work collaboratively with the Group Sales Coordinator to ensure seamless client transitions.

 

V. HOURS

This position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week. Due to the nature of group sales, ministry partnerships, and guest relationships, the Group Sales Manager will be required to work a variety of hours and days, including occasional evenings, weekends, conferences, trade shows, networking events, and campus tours to effectively accomplish job responsibilities.

This position is partially remote, with a combination of on-site and remote work. Regular on-campus presence is required for guest tours, client meetings, team collaboration, strategic planning, and relationship-building activities. Remote work may be utilized for sales outreach, follow-up communication, proposal preparation, administrative tasks, and other responsibilities as approved by the Guest Services Director.

 

COMPENSATION: $18.27/hour plus the opportunity to earn commission
