Head Lifeguard
ABOUT AMERICA’S KESWICK: America’s Keswick is a ministry where biblical teaching is used to cultivate a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through Addiction Recovery, Conferences, Retreats, Events, and Outreach.
The purpose of America’s Keswick is to model and teach biblical victorious living in Christ Jesus, to provide an environment in which biblical life transformation takes place, and to foster active personal involvement in the local church.
DEPARTMENT PURPOSE: The purpose of the lifeguard department is to maintain the pool and lake, while providing a safety and oversight for guest to utilize the swimming facilities.
POSITION PURPOSE: The purpose of the head lifeguard is to set the culture and standards of the lifeguard department.
ESSENTIAL COMPONENTS:
- The one holding this position must be a mature Christian, able to effectively lead and demonstrate Christ-likeness. It is imperative that this person always conduct themselves in a manner as to uphold a solid testimony in harmony with traditional, conservative, evangelical values. He or she must completely adhere to the doctrinal position of America’s Keswick and seek to live the principles of God’s Word. It is understood that failure to maintain a high standard of personal testimony will be grounds for dismissal.
- This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in lifeguarding.
- Solid verbal and non-verbal communication skills are necessary to perform the duties of this position.
- Red Cross Lifeguard certification is required.
- CPO certification is a plus.
- Experience in first aid required.
- The ability to work in a busy environment is required.
- Administrative and organizational skills are required.
- This position requires excellent leadership abilities, discipleship abilities, strong team building skills and superior customer service skills.
- Strong scheduling skills are required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The head lifeguard is responsible for all aspects of the pool/lake operations and safety of all guests using the water facilities. This includes managing the lifeguard team, coordinating with guest services to provide sufficient staffing for events, maintaining and providing sufficient staff safety training, keep records on all pool/lake maintenance and incidents, provide first aid as needed to all guests and staff, offer exceptional guest experience. The position will require staff management and pool/lake maintenance.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: The Head Lifeguard reports directly to the Director of Operations.
HOURS: This position requires minimum of 40 hours per week. Due to the nature of lifeguarding, the head lifeguard will need to work a variety of hours and days, including nights and weekends to accommodate guests and events.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to stand, walk or sit at a for an extended period.
- Must possess auditory, verbal, and visual capabilities to adequately communicate to staff and guests.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
