The Hebrew Month of Adar

Posted on March 12, 2019 by America's Keswick in Victory Call

For several years now we have a monthly celebration in our home called Rosh Chodesh.  Rosh Chodesh is Hebrew for “head of the month,” which is a joyful celebration to the Lord traditionally held on the first day of every Hebrew month.  Rosh Chodesh is a time to gather together and seek God.  We are currently in the month of Adar.

Adar is the twelfth month of the Jewish calendar.  The word Adar means “strength.”  This is a month of special blessing for the Jewish people and is considered a month of joy.  You see in this month of Adar the Jewish people celebrate Purim.  Purim is a time to remember the book of Esther, when God used one young Jewish girl named Esther.  Esther became Queen of Persia and ended up saving the Jewish people from the plans of an evil man named Haman who thought he was going to annihilate the Jews.  BUT GOD!!  If you have never read the story of Esther I would encourage you to read about this precious young woman who, although clearly risking her life, chose to serve God and her people instead of giving into her fears.  We can learn much from her story.

In the month of Adar we are reminded to seek the Lord for anything that is blocking our moving into blessing.  Therefore I want to encourage you to ask Holy Spirit to reveal to you anything that his hindering your walk with the Lord.  Once you have identified your “enemy” then seek that strategy to be set free.  Remember TRUTH will set you free (John 8:32).

For some, your Haman may be worry and it is weighing you down – God tells us to place our anxiety on Him, He cares for us  (1 Peter 5:7; Philippians 4:6-7; Proverbs 12:25).

Read the TRUTH, repent of the anxiety and receive the TRUTH.  Speak TRUTH over and over until you get it into the depths of your being.

For others it may be hurtful or negative words you spoke out of your own mouth over yourself.  It may be hurtful words said to you.  Things like, “I (or you) will never amount to anything.”  Those hurtful, negative words get into your heart and affect your mind.  Ask the Lord to forgive you or forgive the one who spoke those words.  It’s a lie, so begin to speak TRUTH, speak your real identify, which is in Christ Jesus.  Declare TRUTH such as: I have been bought with a price; the blood of the Lamb has redeemed me, I am a new creation, old things have passed away, I am loved, and I am adopted and am now heir with Christ Jesus  (1Jeremiah 31:31; Psalm 34:18; Romans 8:17, 38-39; Corinthians 6:20, 7:23; Ephesians 3:14-15).

Whatever is blocking your moving into blessing, ask God to reveal the strategy to break it.  You may also seek counsel from your pastor and I am sure he/she can suggest someone you can meet with who will come along side of you and help you.

Dear one, don’t let another day go by being a victim of the enemy’s tactics to interrupt your life.  Stay in alignment with TRUTH and keep moving forward through your circumstances into blessing.  I am confident that He who began a good work in you will continue it until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6)

Blessings,

Pat
