Song of Songs

It is almost one year ago I had the most wonderful blessing of traveling to Israel.  Should you ever be given such an opportunity, don’t miss out on this most wonderful life changing experience.  From the moment I set my feet in Israel I felt the love of God in a way that is incredibly hard to describe.  His Word came alive in a most amazing way as I walked on the land Jesus once walked.

When I came home I was drawn to read Song of Songs.  I wanted to understand God’s love for His bride.  I have been in that book for the past year.  My desire to dig deeper led me to two wonderful books and one devotional.  The books are The Song of the Ages Part I: The Summit of Truth and The Song of the Ages Part II: The Kiss of Two Seas both written by Nick Padovani.  The third book is a daily devotional called The Divine Romance by Dr. Brian Simmons and Gretchen Rodriguez.

If you are looking for a deeper walk into Song of Songs and if you long to walk in a greater understanding of God’s love for YOU, perhaps you too may want to read the books and use the daily devotional.  However, get ready for your mind to be stretched.  Have a highlighter, notebook and pen at the ready.  You don’t have to agree with everything Pastor Nick Padovani brings forth, however, consider his words.  Perhaps this fresh revelation about the amazing love of God presented from this short precious book of the Bible will touch your heart too.  For example Nick writes, “God loves to speak in parables with hidden meaning.  It was one of the main things Jesus did when He walked the earth.  In fact, at one point, parables were the only way He taught.  But the Song of Solomon is perhaps the most powerful parable of them all.  Solomon himself wrote, ‘It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but it the glory of kings to search out a matter:’ (Prov. 25:2).  God has concealed beautiful truths in His Word, including this mysterious Song, and it is the glory of His rising Kings and Queens to uncover and dive into its mysteries.  Solomon, a king himself, was one to search out the deep things of God as he penned this text.  As a royal priesthood, we now get to jump into that journey as well.”

You may have heard that The Song of Songs is a guideline for sex and marriage.  It is but it contains so much more.  It speaks of the love relationship between Jesus Christ and His bride.  That my friend is you and I.

Dear one, you are loved with an ever abiding love.  God cannot love you more and He will not love you less.  He wants to draw you to Himself and love on you with a pure and holy love.  God’s desire is always for you, not against you.  Take hold of His love for you, trust Him.  He is forever faithful.
