It Is Going To Be a Great Day Today!

This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
(Psalm 118:24)

Time after time we greet each other with “how are you today?” Most times, if we are honest, we hope no one unloads their problems on us.  Many times, I can relate to this and usually, it is because I find myself already weighed down with my own worries.  I have been challenged, after reading one in of my devotionals the other day, to repeat this statement all day long – it is going to be a great day!

No matter where you are in life, what age you are, what status you fall into, life’s challenges still affect us all. There is not one person in life who is an exception to this. The Lord allows certain situations to come into our lives to mold and shape us to be more like Him. And there are other times when we have made bad choices that have placed us in an unhappy moment.  These choices can be turned around with a simple prayer to the Lord asking for His help and making things right with Him.

When we wake up each day His mercies are new and we should start our day remembering this. We have choices about how we spend our day.  We can either repeat to ourselves that “it is going to be a great day” or we can sit in the junk and complain and embrace the negative situation.  Just repeating this phrase “it is going to be a great day” will help remind us that God’s got it. Every day with the Lord is a great day. Focus daily on Him, His Word, His truths and His promises.

Why do we allow ourselves to sit in the junk?  We can turn even a bad day around by stating “it is going to be a great day.”  The day might still be a bad one, but our whole person will feel the difference and our outlook will change by repeating this phrase all day long.  Give it a try!

This Week’s Verse to Memorize: I, therefore, the prisoner [a]of the Lord, [b]beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. – Ephesians 4:1-3
