In Jesus You Are Secure!

And you will feel secure, because there is hope; you will look around and take your rest in security. Job 11:18

He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. Psalm 40:2

We all know that in the Peanuts cartoon, Linus needed his security blanket. Perhaps your child needed one too. For years I have seen Thunder Shirts advertised. These shirts are for your dog to keep them feeling secure when there are storms or fireworks. Recently, I saw advertised weighted blankets for adults. They are also designed to give comfort and security. Even in these summer months, I will admit that I prefer to sleep in the air conditioning but still need a blanket. I just can’t sleep without a light blanket.

None of us should find our security in a blanket. Aren’t we, as children of God, blessed to find our identity, our lives and our very being secure in Him? We can live and stand secure holding onto the precious promises we find in the Word of God. We can continue to trust that we are held in the palm of His hand, and we cannot be snatched from Him. We can know that there is hope and security even when things feel uncertain. Our anxieties can be calmed knowing that we are secure as we trust the Lord’s leading and guiding each step of the way.

Blessings,
Kathy

Daily Quote: “See the Gospel Church secure, And founded on a Rock! All her promises are sure; her bulwarks who can shock? Count her every precious shrine; Tell, to after-ages tell, Fortified by power divine, The Church can never fail.” – Charles Wesley

This Week’s Verse to Memorize: Do you see a man hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him. — Proverbs 29:20
