Where you headed to?

The compass is one of the simplest tools to navigate with. Weather your hiking, boating or any other outdoor activity, it simple points you in the right direction.

The Chinese first invented it years before Christ was born, but they along with the Persian empire perfected the magnetic compass about the 11th or 12th century.

Navigational tools have evolved greatly since those days.

Trust me I use google maps often. But with the simple compass if there is a magnet near it, it goes haywire on us sending us in the wrong direction.

That’s what happens when our Moral compass goes adrift and we stray away from Gods plan for us.

A couple of years ago at an early morning gathering at our church for men, Phil Morgan, one of our elders gave devotion on “Our Moral Compass”.

For me it was so powerful that I use some of it to this day in speaking with the men in the Colony. He spoke deeply about how we lose our way in daily life and the need to set our direction back to Christ.

“We have confidence if the Lord about you, that you are doing and will continue to do what we command. May the Lord direct your hearts to Gods love and Christs endurance.” (2 Thessalonians 3:4-5)

We all lose our way. But the saving grace is that Jesus will always be there for us. He patiently waits for us to point our Moral Compass back to him. He wants us body and soul, all of it, not halfhearted, ALL!

The soul is the piece of your consciousness that has morel worth and bears moral responsibility.

A river is not morally responsible for how it flows. But because we have a soul, we are morally responsible for what we do or don’t do. Our actions are either praiseworthy or blameworthy. Because we have this moral piece in us, we are judged for being the kind we are for the thoughts we think and the actions we take. (Borrowed from David Brooks)

What path are you taking ?
