Good morning on this Monday of a brand new week. Our 2023 theme is Anchored – Faithful through the Ages.
I love Psalm 100. In the KJV it says:
“For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.”
Many of the modern translations use the word FAITHFULNESS instead of the Word truth.
Either word works for me as an illustration of how God is “faithful through the ages.”
We live in a world where TRUTH is in question. Pilate asked that question at the trial of Jesus. “What is truth.”
Missionary statesman, Roy Lessin reminds us that:
“But the Lord is the true God and the God of truth (the God who is Truth). He is the living God and the everlasting King.” (Jeremiah 10:10 Amplified Bible)
“Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6 Amplified Bible)
“The Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.” (John 14:17 Amplified Bible)
“Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the Truth; Your word is Truth.” (John 17:17 Amplified Bible)
God is Three in One and all three persons of the Trinity are TRUTH. The Apostle John in the Gospel of John does this cool thing when he says:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)
“And then he makes this statement: And the Word (referring to Jesus) became flesh and tabernacle (dwelt) among us; and we saw His glory [His honor and His majesty], such glory as an only begotten son receives from His father, full of grace [favor and lovingkindness] and TRUTH.” (John 1:14)
Is that not amazing?
So the next question is so what? Well, next week I want to remind you of our relationship to the Truth. The Bible has lots to say about this.
