Still the Same

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

Hebrews 13:8

“Have you not known?
  Have you not heard?
Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?”

  Isaiah 40:21

If there was ever a time to be comforted, it’s now. Yet we see believers in Christ paralyzed by fear and anxiety, focused on circumstances and unable to have peace. We may fully understanding that we are living in trying times, but are there many who the Lord would say “Have you considered my servant ….”?

In a world where nothing is the same, yesterday, today or forever, we should be clinging now more than ever to the promises of God.

Isaiah 40 is a great reminder of these promises, a chapter that would comfort us in times of trouble. Consider the circumstances, redeem the time and be a light in a very dark place. If you are looking for the harvest, look no further than those whose hopes are fading. We see many who have put their trust in the world and all it’s ways.

The message of the Gospel has never been clearer, first, we must preach it to ourselves lest we become disqualified. Are you comforted by God’s word and His promises? Is your prayer life sustaining you and keeping you focused on the prize? If so, the next thing is to portray it to a lost and confused world.

Have you not known?

Have you not heard?

The everlasting God, the LORD,

The Creator of the ends of the earth,

Neither faints nor is weary.

His understanding is unsearchable.

He gives power to the weak,

And to those who have no might He increases strength.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary,

And the young men shall utterly fall,

But those who wait on the LORD

Shall renew their strength;

They shall mount up with wings like eagles,

They shall run and not be weary,

They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:28-31

Think About This: God will not turn away from doing you good. He will keep on doing good. He doesn’t do good to His children sometimes and bad to them other times. He keeps on doing good and He never will stop doing good for ten thousand ages of ages. When things are going bad that does not mean God has stopped doing good. It means He is shifting things around to get them in place for more good, if you will go on loving Him.” – John Piper

This Week’s Verse to Memorize: Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. 1 John 3:2-3
