Put Off … Put On Part 2

Posted on May 18, 2020 by Catey Stover in Freedom Fighters

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:5-8

Last week I started a list for us on things to Put Off and Put On. The moment we were saved, we were given a new identity, and part of that new identity is that doing what the Scripture tells us to do to make us more like Christ.

Here is Part 2 of the list:

Before you toss this list out because you are frustrated, not every one of these will apply to YOU! And the purpose of this list is not so you will give it to your wife or your kids to have them work on their issues. If you want to  have a real interesting time, give today’s list to your spouse or friend and ask them to share with you HONESTLY which of these you need to put off and put on. THAT would be an interesting discussion.

I’ll share Part 3 next week.

This Week’s Verse to Memorize:  “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 [c]Because narrow is the gate and [d]difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. –Matthew 7:13-14
