Power Surge

Omnipotent is the word we use in theology to describe an all powerful God; and in our limited understanding we fail to realize that God’s Omnipotence is more than sheer power, He is the source and definition of what power is. When we state that God is all powerful, we are not stating that He is the greatest among gods…. No, far from it; God is power, being the source of power that is available for all of Creation to avail itself of.

When you place your trust in God, you are anchoring that trust in power itself and not some weaker being. So when Jesus invites you to come to Him and share His yoke, He is inviting you to fuse with power itself. This is why He says His ‘yoke is easy and my burden is light’, for what is impossible for power itself to accomplish? It is for this reason Paul writes, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” by being yoked or fused with Him.

We struggle and fear because we rely on our own understanding. Do you want to be steadfast in the face of battles and heartaches? Do you want to know His grace is sufficient and that His power is made perfect in weakness? Do you want to boast all the more gladly about your weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on you? Do you want to be able to delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, and in difficulties ‘for Christ’s sake’, knowing that ‘when I am weak, then I am strong…?’ (2 Cor 12:9-10) You can have all that is His! Those who have accepted Jesus’ invitation to ‘yoke’ themselves with Him by Faith, even have the same Spirit that drew Him back out of the grave inside them as well. You can do all things through Christ; the choice is yours… so choose wisely…

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.

The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.”
