Now is the Time

“I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.” ~ Isaiah

A time of God’s favor also implies that there is a time when His favor will no longer be available and those who reject it will live as ‘unfavored’ or ‘unpardoned’, separated from God and all that His nature encompasses.

If you grieve away the Holy Spirit, continuing to reject the gospel; if you go unprepared to eternity, no mercy is left to be found by you. God does not design to pardon beyond the grave. He has made no provision for forgiveness there; and those who are not pardoned in this life, must be unpardoned forever.

Now is the time when God’s favor is available because Jesus has come and completed the work of Salvation; making the way to God’s favor available to all who believe. Paul proclaims, “So ‘now’ there is no condemnation for those who belong (through faith) to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The Law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by ‘giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins’. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1-4 NLT) Tomorrow is not promised, now… today is the day of your decision. Will you leave behind all that keeps you from enjoying God’s favor and walk by faith in Jesus, no longer trusting in your own understanding or earthly position. Now is the time…. choose wisely!

“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.

For, He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

(2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 8:11)
