Love = Pain

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

The love chapter as 1 cor.13 is referred to is one of the most read verses in the bible. It speaks of love being kind, patient, not boasting, proud, rude or self-seeking. But the pain that comes in loving comes in many forms, some good, some terrible. Most of us know what an addiction can do to a loved one. It tears apart families, marriages, relationships, and jobs. Trust is thrown out the window. Credibility is lost, all the while these things are taking place, people are praying for that loved one to come around and surrender to the only true savior that heals. Jesus Christ has been the answer to millions of people seeking help from their addiction. But some pains of love are good, a graduate of the Colony of Mercy, John Herron, in South Carolina, finishing his degree and then received an offer to pastor a church in Georgia, while his fiancee was in Africa in the mission field. That is pain just missing the one you love and wanting to be nearby. They should be married by the time this comes to print. “love never fails’ vs8. We constantly love those who are going through the struggles in addiction. We hope that they will find Christ Jesus and surrender to His will for their life. And we always have faith in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit to guide our steps in whatever painful journey we may be on. “and now these three remain; faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love”  vs13

Think About This: “You do not need to swindle yourself into thinking that you are strong. You can face your weakness with joy because you know that you have been given grace for that weakness; grace that is not a thing, but a person—the Holy Spirit, who makes you the place where he dwells in power.” ― Paul David Tripp
