Intricacy

“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” John 17:17

 

I’ve often been accused of making things more complicated then they should be. When it comes to the Gospel, I believe there are some simplicities, but I also believe there are some things that need a closer look, “Intricacy”.

When considering the sanctification process, it can be a tedious task to make sure we are cooperating with the Spirit of God. I understand that God is the One who sanctifies us, but I also believe we are called to participate. The intricacies of this process are important to maintain proper fellowship. If we are negligent to this process it can cause confusion and a lack of peace and joy. It’s not that we must understand every situation, but our spiritual positioning is the key to being at peace even when things don’t make sense.

In order for us to enter the flow of the Spirit, there needs to be a process of undoing or cleansing. The proper positioning in the sanctification process may cause us to do some soul searching. If we are harvesting unforgiveness of bitterness towards others, it is almost impossible to participate in the process. Putting off the deeds of the flesh are an important part of being able to receive the fruit of the Spirit. The intricacies of the sanctification process are easily forfeited if there’s not an importance on our part to partake of them.

There is a fine line between works-based faith and responsible faith, Paul tells us “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure”. Like any relationship, there is work on both ends. God is always the initiator, but we must be the responders. Entering the intricacies of the sanctification process means to check our fleshly baggage at the door. The is no place for the works of the flesh there. When we were saved, we were set apart for God’s good pleasure, the deeds of the flesh are not permitted in His presence.

I’m not suggesting perfection but acknowledgment, confession means to agree with God, repentance is the completion of confession by turning away. The act of separation is the means to participate.

If there is anything that is hindering you from participating in the sanctification process, confess it and repent. Only then can you enjoy the fullness of all God has for you. Amen!
