Insurmountable

“And the letters were sent by couriers into all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to annihilate all the Jews,” — Esther 3:13a

Have you ever felt defeated? When there seems to be a path in front of you that seems impossible to tread? The mixed emotions that come in these situations can cause fear and anxiety, it can take the wind right out from your lungs.

I believe the accounts like the book of Esther were written for us to see that nothing is too hard for our God. Whether the task is self-inflicted, others inflicted or just life circumstances, there is always hope. The key is to see this as something to overcome or else, you’ll be overcome by it.

These trials that face us from time to time should cause us to retreat to the sovereignty of God. To know that God is in control and to look for the relief that lies ahead. How many things can you look back upon and think to yourself, “I don’t know how I made it through”? The difference between a believer who trusts God and someone who has little or no faith in God is, trust will leave you with a stronger faith, a thankful heart and a testimony that can serve as an encouragement to others. Faithlessness can leave you bitter, angry and cause a hardened heart all leading to hopelessness.

Our “Insurmountable” endeavors are how God proves Himself to us. Of course we would rather have them in the rear view mirror but they may be standing in front of us and God has placed them there for “Such a time as this.” We can take heart by seeking His will and benefit by leaning on the Body of Believers to share the load. If prayer is the only thing that someone can do for you it is a powerful source. Esther seemed to be all alone in the task in front of her, it was her job to speak to the King and face possible death. She was wise to take advantage of a tremendous source,

Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”

Whether your path is life or death or just a major inconvenience, God wants you to know that nothing is “Insurmountable”. I pray that these truths are an encouragement to you, and if there is anything I can pray for you about don’t hesitate to ask. We’re in this walk together, don’t let the enemy think you’re all alone, Amen.

Think About This: “God desires to show His power through your storm, but is your lack of faith keeping Him from doing so? God brings storms into your life to show His strength and to gain glory from His providence.” – Paul Chappell

This Week’s Verse to Memorize: For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. – 2 Corinthians 5:14-15
