I MISS YOU!

I have not slept in the same bed as my wife for over 2 weeks!! Okay, you say, where is this going? There are always times in any marriage that couples will be apart from each other. Shirley and I are no different, she may go to the cabin for a week or travel to see our kids or grandbabies. I may go on a golf trip with friends for a few days or have gone to stay with a family member or friend when a sickness has come upon them. But when those “planned “trips happen we know the exact time we will be together again. I love my wife and like her even more. But when I came down with covid I had to quarantine till I received a negative result. She has been wonderful through this whole mess. Bringing me dinner and supplies while sequestered at Keswick. The other night she asked me how I liked being a bachelor, without hesitation, I said quickly said “it sucks”. I don’t like being away from my wife like this, the unknowing of when we will be together bothers me. By the time you read this, I know that we will be relaxing up at the cabin or home chilling out.

Matthew 19:5-6 “for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall become ONE flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate”

Notice the highlighted word there” ONE”. We have become a strong team together. We each have strengths and weaknesses. We share with one another the highs and the lows that every marriage will go through. Through thick and thin, for better or worse, till death do us part! Am I the greatest husband to walk the planet earth? Nope, I’m as close to the bottom of the barrel as it can get. But the one thing we both share with each other is our total love of the Lord Jesus Christ and what he has done in our lives, and to our lives. Marriage is serious business, but so is loving God and the teachings of the words he has given us through the bible. Ephesians 5:25 “Husbands, love your wives” I have a renewed love for Shirley though this experience. Have you told your wife today how much you love her? I try every day!!

Think About This: “Prayer never evaporates. It sets into motion forces as inexorable and perhaps as “unhurriable” as a glacier, but when the Lord’s arm reaches down, no power in heaven or earth will frustrate him.” ― Elisabeth Elliot

This Week’s Verse to Memorize:10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. -1 John 4:10-11
