I Have a Place for You

John 14: 2-3 “In my father’s house there are many rooms, if not, I would have told you. I am going away to prepare a place for you. If I go away to prepare a place for you, I will come again, and take you to myself, so that where I am you may be a

I can tell you that if you come to Jesus that it will never rain on your parade, your children and grandchildren will be little angels and grow up to be doctors working with medical missionaries around the globe; Russia will stop this bloody war on Ukraine and make full restitutions for the atrocities that they have caused. But I can’t tell you that. Because it’s not true. What I can tell you that may make a smile come to your face and will change your outlook when the storms of life come, and they will, when you grasp this simple concept: God never allows anything in your life that He does not promise to use for your good if you are one of His children and living in according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” If you will make Jesus your focus, He will make His love both your comfort and your strength to weather those storms that are lurking around every corner. Place your eyes on Him and Him alone because He is for you!

Paul in 2 Corinthians reminds us of the comfort we have as children of God “Blessed be the God and Father of our lord Jesus Christ the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort”. He comforts us in all our afflictions. Jesus assures us that He has asked the Father to send us the comfort we need. John 14:16 “I will ask the Father and He will give you another comforter to be with you forever.”

Storms are inevitable, either weather-related or life-related. We have all gone threw them and more are waiting. I will tell that if you keep your eyes focused on things of heaven and the promises of His word, He will be your shelter when the storms come. He will be your umbrella, He will be the shelter that guards your emotions, dreams and even the deepest part of who you are. He will protect and nurture you in this thing we call life. And it is that place that the Holy Spirit within you that embodies the truest and most authentic parts of who you are.

Not only will Jesus cover you but He will also use the storms and troubles of this life to guide you into your brighter tomorrow. I know firsthand that life can hurt and bring us to our knees. But rather than allow those troubles to lead you down a path of bitterness and anger at God. Take hold of the comfort of Jesus Christ who gave his life for you, me and this entire world some 2,000 years ago. Remember this coming holy week. You are not alone, focus your eyes on the one died on that cross and promised you ever lasting life in his Father’s house.

David one of the bibles greatest leaders spoke in the Psalm about God’s heavenly home.

Psalm 27:4 “One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek, That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.”

There’s a room waiting in heaven for you, your family and friends, I’m looking forward to seeing you there!!
